Valley of Fire

Located about an hour away from Sin City, Valley of Fire is Nevada's first state park and features a beautiful maze of red Aztec sandstone rock formations. The 40,000 acre park also includes a campground, scenic drive, hiking trails and petroglyphs.

Some of the best attractions in Valley of Fire include Elephant Rock, Beehive Rock and the unique hoodoos (rock formations that look like they're on fire). Many people love to visit the park for its sunset and sunrise views, as they are famous for their vivid colors.

The Valley of Fire is one of the most popular Vegas day trips for adventurers, photographers and content creators. The best time to see the park is mid-fall through mid-spring, as temperatures are cooler and you can avoid high summer prices.

Red Rock Canyon

Located just 17 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, Red Rock Canyon is a must-see outdoor adventure for any traveler. The scenic loop drive is a great way to get away from the noise and traffic of the city and enjoy nature at its finest.

Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for your road trip. The weather in the canyon can be a little cooler than in the city, so you’ll want to pack layers. A National Park Pass is also a good idea. It provides admission to 63 national parks across the country for an annual fee of $80.
